ABOUT ME:

Jason Librande is a film composer (and biologist!) based out of San Diego, California. After spending a decade honing his skills as a pianist, violinist and arranger, he started to write music for film in 2010.

7 years onward, Jason has recently completed recordings of his newest demo reel with the Budapest Scoring Orchestra (which he has used numerous times in the past). With a shoestring budget, Jason was able to create fully realized, orchestral recordings, a skill that is incredibly handy when dealing with indie film projects.

As an artist, Jason has a particular soft spot for film music written in the 90's and early 2000's. The heavy orchestral bearing, with light synthetic colors for augmentation is a style that resonates heavily with him. However, he is no stranger to technology, and frequently realizes scores entirely with samples and synthesizers.

Jason, unlike many other composers today, focuses strictly on the art of film music. He believes that film music requires a tremendous amount of skill, knowledge and craft to execute to the highest level, and as a result he wishes to focus on this arena only. His belief is that through his focused artistry he will be able to craft scores that can truly say what the picture alone cannot.
